Central Falls won’t take furniture at all. Will you?

Yes. The city lists furniture and bulky waste as not accepted — there is no curbside pickup and no appointment to book. We take couches, dressers, tables, bed frames and whatever else the city refuses, in one visit, usually the same day.

Can you take my mattress?

Yes. Central Falls charges $15 per mattress or box spring, collects only on Fridays, and only after you print the Request for Large Item Trash Pickup form and mail it or bring it to the DPW at 1280 High Street. We pick mattresses up right from the bedroom, any day of the week.

Do you take renovation debris in Central Falls?

Yes. The city has no curbside option for construction debris — toilets, cabinets, doors, drywall, decking, fencing, siding or shingles. That is exactly the kind of load we handle.

Can you take my old fridge or washer?

Yes. Central Falls collects large appliances free on Fridays by appointment, but anything with freon — fridges, air conditioners — costs $15 and still needs the Large Item Trash Pickup form delivered to the DPW at 1280 High Street. We carry it out and haul it the same day, no form and no fee.

Do I need to move my junk outside?

No — we remove items from inside your apartment, basement, attic or third-floor walk-up. You point at what goes and we handle the lifting and the stairs.

Where does my stuff actually go?

Usable furniture and appliances go to donation partners, metal and electronics get recycled, and only what is genuinely unusable goes to the RIRRC Central Landfill in Johnston, which takes in more than 90% of Rhode Island’s trash. Central Falls lists both bulky waste and furniture as not accepted, so none of it goes curbside here — though clothing and textiles can go in the donation boxes at businesses around the city.

What don't you take?

Hazardous materials — paint, gasoline, pesticides, pool chemicals and propane tanks. Rhode Island Resource Recovery runs free Eco-Depot appointments for those at (401) 942-1430. Motor oil, cooking oil and car batteries you can drop off yourself at the Central Falls DPW, 1280 High Street.

Want to do it yourself? Here’s what Central Falls actually picks up — and what it flatly refuses.

Furniture & Bulky Waste

The city does not accept them. Central Falls lists bulky waste and furniture as not collected — no curbside option, no appointment to book. Couches, dressers, tables and bed frames are entirely on you.

Mattresses & Box Springs

$15 per item, picked up only on Fridays, and only after you print the Request for Large Item Trash Pickup form and mail it or drop it off at the DPW, 1280 High Street. There is no online booking.

The Dump: Central Landfill

Rhode Island’s Central Landfill is at 65 Shun Pike, Johnston, RI — call (401) 942-1430 for hours and requirements. You’ll need a truck, and fees apply for many items. Closer to home, the Central Falls DPW at 1280 High Street takes motor oil, cooking oil and car batteries — Monday to Thursday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday until noon.

Appliances & Rugs

Washers, dryers and stoves are free on Fridays with an appointment; anything with freon — fridges, air conditioners — costs $15, and tires are $8 each. Carpets only go out in the trash cart if you cut them in half, under four feet, tied and bundled. Yard waste goes out Thursday nights after 5 p.m. in brown paper bags — any earlier and you get ticketed.

The catch: no furniture or bulky waste at all, a printed form mailed to the DPW, Friday-only pickups and $15 per mattress. If you’d rather skip all of that, we’ll pick it up today — any day, any amount, straight from inside your apartment.
